A Day Too Sunny

Not based on a personal experience.

A bleak, dismal covering clouds
Expected.
A constant down pour of rain drops
Perfected
Black umbrellas swaying like flowers
Dyeing.
A day such as this would be far worth
Denying.

 Not so on this lamented
Occasion.
The sun shines proud as though in
Celebration!?
Birds tweet and flutter in jovial
Song.
Leading one to believe the world’s not
Wrong.

The soft skies offend
Heartbroken.
The Earth to unmend
What’s Taken.
Things should be not so agreeable
Meteorologically.
The sky should be shorn
Methodically.

My heart’s broken
So why not the heavens?
Give back to me,
Reluctantly,
My angel on fair wings.

Lily Flower

Farewell lily flower
I’m going far, far away
But I’ll be back within the hour

I’ll return next day
Before you even have a chance
To wish I hadn’t gone away

It’s only a couple of nights
So don’t count the darkness
But those beautiful lights

I won’t change in the coming weeks
I’ll still be the same boy
The next time that we speak

I’ll miss you this year
But don’t hold your breath
I’m not worth any one of your tears

We may not meet again in this life
Or even in the next
But I will be with you through all of your strife

It will seem like for ever
Before I come home
But I’ll be back within the hour
